In addition to the included soft-serve ice cream and Mickey bars available via room service, your ship may have some shops with extra-fee ice cream. On Disney Dream, Disney Fantasy and Disney Wish, you'll find an ice cream shop stuffed with candies, gelato and ice cream — all for an extra charge. Each night, your tablemates and servers will move from one restaurant to the next as a team.
Best cruise lines in the Caribbean
Edge is the vessel's tween club, which offers video and board games and brightly colored decor for the 11- to 14-year-old set. The spaces are so fun that you're likely to see very little of your children during a sailing on Disney Wish. You might even be disappointed that you can't spend time there yourself. The best Disney ship for families is Disney Wish; it earns high marks whether you're traveling with babies, toddlers, school-age kids or teens. The best location on a Disney cruise ship for the best views (widest vistas) is the very front or the very back of the ship.
Luxury Caribbean Cruise That Answers Your Vacation Prayers
Disney cruises tend to be more expensive than the average cruise. Currently, for example, the cheapest cruise departing from Port Canaveral is a three-night trip to the Bahamas, which costs $1,958 for two guests. There are currently 5 Disney Cruise Ships sailing with two more on the way. The next ship that’s going to start sailing in 2024 is named The Treasure.

⭐️ DCL Merchandise & Products for Your Cruise ⭐️
If you want a good seat, arrive about 30 minutes early since seating is first come, first served. Just like on board, some of the food on Castaway is included, while alcohol and specialty drinks are not. The Cookie's and Cookie's Too lunch shacks on the island are both included, so load up on hot dogs, barbecue, hamburgers, fries and all the fixings. If your cruise takes you to Disney's private island, Castaway Cay, you're in luck, as there's plenty of included food to eat there, too.
We only focus our ranking on the ship amenities and which Disney Cruise ship is the best. This blog helps over a million people to plan their cruises each month. Passengers say that issues are caused due to bottlenecks and split restaurants that cause crowds and long delays. For an expensive ship that has been significantly hyped, there seems to be a lot of frustration at these flaws which will be hard to correct. Other reviews mention the cabins feeling smaller and having limited storage space.
Best Cruise for Entertainment (clubs, shows, and characters)
If you’re looking to cruise on a budget, the cheapest ship with the lowest priced itineraries can be found on the Disney Magic. And when it comes to food, adults can dine at both Palo and Remy (no kids allowed). And in case you were wondering, the second best ship in regards to food options is the Disney Magic mainly due to one thing I love so much – schwarma. And let’s not forget about Marceline Market, which is a buffet open for breakfast and lunch. My only complaint about Marceline Market is that the seafood selection is lacking compared to Cabanas onboard the Dream and Fantasy.
When my kids were younger, we’d accompany them on their quest. Once they were a bit older, they loved the freedom of doing it on their own. While the Disney Magic and Wonder don’t have the AquaDuck, the Disney Magic does have the AquaDunk, a high-speed water slide tube. The smaller ships definitely do feel more intimate but don’t have as many amenities. The Disney Dream and Disney Fantasy are the Dream class ships, which accommodate a maximum of 4,000 passengers. The new Triton Class ships (the Disney Wish) also accommodate 4,000 but are a bit bigger in Gross Tonnage.
Whether you’re a senior looking to relax, a couple on a romantic getaway, a solo traveler seeking adventure, or a family with kids or teens, Disney Wonder caters to all. However, if I was to focus on one group, I would say the Disney Wonder is best suited to Teens. Now, let’s talk about the real stars of the show – the kids. From the Marvel Super Hero Academy to the Disney Junior-themed playroom, there’s no shortage of fun. With first-class dining, peaceful spa, and relaxing lounges, it’s a great place to kick back and enjoy retirement. Let it be known that while this is an article on all 5 of the Disney ships ranked, it was almost impossible to do so.
What to Expect When Boarding the Disney Magic
To put this in perspective it is often quoted that these ships are longer (or taller) than the Eiffel Tower in Paris. The Disney Magic was the first ship to be launched in 1998. The Magic’s sister ship, the Disney Wonder was launched a year later in 1999. Itineraries departing from U.S. cities attract predominantly Americans. While Disney has an impressive track record of returning passengers, it also welcomes a large number (sometimes up to 50 percent of the total passengers) of first-time cruisers.
Featuring live musical entertainment, character moments, and a mini Mardi Gras parade, Tiana’s Place has everything you want from, well, Tiana’s Place. Not to mention the New Orleans-inspired food, which ties the whole thing together. You can always expect some magic from Disney, and there is no exception when sailing on Disney Cruise Line.
What brings the Disney Dream down for us is the restaurants. Enchanted Garden (which is also on the Fantasy, but we’ve ranked that higher for reasons we’ll explain later) is pretty, but doesn’t have a strong theme. It doesn’t stand up to other Disney Cruise Line restaurants like Tiana’s Place (which we’ll also get to) or even 1923 on the Wish.
Most recently I was on the Disney Wonder and was in Triton’s, one of the main rotational dining restaurants, having lunch. The level of service is exceptional on all of the Disney ships. It is always very difficult to explain just how above and beyond most of the Disney crew go to give exceptional service to their guests. There are many other things to consider when you ask yourself which is the best Disney cruise ship.
My favorite bar of all the ships is the Meridian Lounge, which is located between Palo and Remy on the Disney Dream and Disney Fantasy. For breakfast and lunch, each of the four original ships has the Cabanas buffet, with both indoor and outdoor seating. On the Wish, there’s Marceline Market, which is similar to a buffet but with servers plating the food. That itinerary was so much fun, and the four-day trip was the perfect amount of time for our girls’ trip.
